The collected works of
Isabelle A Nygren
This site is a place for me to keep track of everything I've published, and an easy way to share those works with interested parties. If you want works that are frequently macabre, occasionaly funny, and rarely happy, you've landed in the right spot!
also I have realized that Drive no longer works which screws up a lot of my site; it's currently 1 am but I will fix this soon
Literary Horror with the occasional moist brain port

His Kingdom by the Sea
My current big project!
His Kingdom by the Sea is a contemporary Gothic novel that exists at the intersection between du Maurier and Lovecraft, continuing the modern Gothic revival exemplified by works like Silvia Moreno-Garcia's Mexican Gothic and Mona Awad's Bunny! I have finished the rough draft, which currently clocks in at about 100k words but which I'm hoping to edit down to being in a more query-friendly state (80k-90k). Keep checking in on this website, or follow me on Instagram and/or Facebook for more updates!
Click here for the project's page, which includes the full prologue and other fun bits and bobs.

Currently Unhoused Works
Allow me to regale you with a tale of woe: if I post my short fiction here, that story counts as published, which excludes it from being distributed by any organization that doesn't do reprints, which is a lot of them. As such, I have the story's word count and summary, but I don't have the actual text posted, as that would make formal publication of the piece markedly more difficult. However, if you know me in person and want to read it, just ask. I'm not super precious about my work. The pieces in this section are polished to a degree that I'm comfortable with other people reading them.
